Newsletter - August 2, 2006 |
We did it again! Our Gulf Coast Chapter was recognized as a Model Chapter for 2005. Out of 52 total chapters of the National Defense Industrial Association, there were only 11 recognized as model chapters for 2005. Model chapters for 2005 were Aberdeen Proving Ground; Central Florida; Greater Hampton Roads; Gulf Coast; Iowa-Illinois; Michigan; Picatinny; Rocky Mountain; San Diego; Tennessee Valley and Washington, DC. Thank you for helping make our Chapter a success!
We are well on our way towards making the 32nd Air Armament Symposium a success! The Symposium will be held at the Emerald Coast Conference Center, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida on 3 & 4 October 2006. This year's theme is "Air Armament Solutions in an Interdependent Warfighting Environment." Symposium focus areas will provide valuable insights on future warfighter requirements and weaponization challenges. The agenda offers perspectives from warfighters, acquisition communities, and a panel briefing from industry. We expect a diverse domestic and international audience, with participation from industry and the military. Go to http://www.meetingspots.net/ to register for the Symposium.
We currently have about 900 members in the Gulf Coast Chapter. If you know of someone who wants to sign up, they can register at http://eweb.ndia.org NDIA offers a 3 year free membership to Government employees. Spread the word and let's shoot to get our membership up to 1000 in time for the Symposium!
Our scholarship winners for 2006 will be recognized at the Symposium. We awarded 2 scholarships to attend Okaloosa Walton College and 1 to attend University of West Florida. Our total endowment continues to grow thanks to continued support by our members and through the Florida Matching Gift Fund.
Thank you for all you do to defend our great country.
V/R,
Judy A. Stokley, President
