Good afternoon All,
We did it again! Our Gulf Coast Chapter was recognized as a Model Chapter for 2007. Out of 52 total chapters of the National Defense Industrial Association, currently there are only 8 recognized as model chapters for 2007. Thank you for helping make our Chapter a Model Chapter 5 years in a row!
We are well on our way towards making the 33rd Air Armament Symposium a success! The Symposium will be held at the Emerald Coast Conference Center, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida on 10 & 11 October 2007. This year's theme is "Air Armament 2020: Strategies for the Warfighter".
This annual Symposium offers an outstanding opportunity for us to continue to strengthen our government-to-industry relationships, foster an excellent exchange of information with senior leaders in the air armament business, and provide information to our industry partners on future Air Armament Center business opportunities. Symposium focus areas will provide valuable insights on future warfighter requirements and weaponization challenges affecting air armament. Numerous warfighters and acquisition professionals discuss near-term armament capabilities while also exploring future game-changing technologies. Go to http://www.meetingspots.net/ to register for the Symposium.
Our membership is at an all-time high with over 1000 members in the Gulf
Coast Chapter. If you know of someone who wants to sign up, they can
register at http://eweb.ndia.org NDIA offers a 3 year free membership
to Government employees. Spread the word and let's shoot to keep our membership above 1000!
Our scholarship winners for 2007 will be recognized at the Symposium. We awarded a total of 6 scholarships to students attending Okaloosa Walton College and the University of West Florida. Our endowments continue to grow thanks to continued support by our members and through the Florida Matching Gift Fund. In addition, in 2008, we will endow a scholarship to Troy University and we are instituting a new grant program to local middle school math and science teachers. Our industry partners are also actively involved in giving back to the local community. Ms. Debbie Davis, a Math Curriculum Specialist in Okaloosa County, was the recipient of a MATH HERO award sponsored by Raytheon.
Save the date! Maj Gen (S) Eidsaune will give the State of the Center address on Tuesday, November 13th, 1130 at the Enlisted Club. Make your plans now to attend this annual event.
Thank you for all you do to defend our great country.
V/R,
Judy A. Stokley, President
Gulf Coast Chapter of the NDIA
